This Women’s Day celebrate being Unique & Unparalleled, Unapologetically yourself, Bold & Brave. The past year has seen great progress for women and girls around the globe. Women took to the main stage and had their voices heard. It’s International Women’s Day, a day to honor and celebrate the cultural, social, economic, and political achievements of women. There are many reasons to cherish Women & one of them is All women are amazing because they never quit.
Girls haven’t quit trying to get to school. Women haven’t quit providing two-thirds of the world’s unpaid labor. They haven’t quit giving birth to the world’s next-generation & haven’t quit advocating for equality, freedom, opportunity, and dignity.
Women have proven again and again that they can go far when people invest in them. Microlending studies have shown that women in the developing world are exceptional entrepreneurs. They never quit changing our world for the better. They are breaking the glass ceiling in every field.
Our CEO, Rhea Mazumdar Singhal was given the ‘Woman Strength Award’ (Nari Shakti Puraskar) for “pioneering the sustainable food packaging industry” in India. She raised her voice against the evil ‘Plastic’ and introduced Ecoware, the sustainable solution to the world. Her innovative ideas and dedication towards doing good for society always make her stand shine. She being a woman entrepreneur has always strong thoughts for other women.
She believes “Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong, it’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength”. She always says Women are the real architects of our society. She always supports & gives equal opportunity to women. When she started Ecoware, there were no women workers and it took her a lot of time to build trust as employers to get to where Ecoware is now. Ecoware has a team of 120+ people and currently has 30% women.
It took a cultural change, especially at the manufacturing facility for Rhea to be taken seriously and for this team of women she introduced. But she always believed that they are the hardest workers and she is immensely proud of them. She introduced initiatives like flexible working hours, equal pay, and upskilling to help women progress through the organization. Every person has a bank account and their salaries are transferred there, so they are financially independent. Ecoware commitment is to take 50% in the next months.
A woman has all the abilities to stand for herself, the only thing she needs the most to succeed in her life is “A Chance”
